Hello again!

I hope y’all enjoyed getting to know the first group of summer interns and what we are up to within these HQ walls and in our respective spaces. Another week has flown by, with projects now in full-swing and events being planned left and right! So, without wasting any time, let’s introduce another six of my intern colleagues and friends…

Taylor Skinner—Giving Intern

Hometown: Moorpark, CA
Why you love working in Giving: Giving is what makes TOMS…TOMS!  Being able to make an impact all over the world as an intern is ridiculously amazing!
If you could have any super power, you’d have… Shape-shifting. That way I could change into any shape or thing. It would be totally awesome to change my shape into a bird so I could fly anywhere for free!
Last song played on your iPod? “Titanium” by David Guetta

Alex Sanchez—Digital Design Intern

alex

Hometown: Tampa, FL
What are you working on? As the Digital Design Intern I have been creating Ad banners, e-blasts, and I’ve been included in concepting for future design projects.
Favorite food? I love anything fried! I’ve been known to make fried Oreos…
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Andy Warhol.
If you were a sandwich, you’d be… A goober sandwich. It’s mixed peanut butter and jelly, which is the best of both worlds.
Last song played on your iPod? “The Party and The After Party” by The Weekend

 Amy Marcelo—Campus Programs Intern

Hometown: Long Island, NY
Why I love working in Campus Programs: I get to help students and teachers grow the One for One movement at their schools by prepping resources for the incredible events they host. It’s amazing to see the creativity shown on each campus and the impact it makes at their schools!
If you were a sandwich, you’d be… The best tasting grilled cheese.
If you could have any super power, you’d have… Time travel.
If you could be a Disney character, you’d be… Jasmine the princess from Aladdin.
Last song played on your IPod? “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers

Casey Courter— Retail Marketing & Events Intern

Hometown: Conyers, GA
What are you working on? I work with all aspects of Style Your Sole events, such as booking and maintaining relationships with artists. I have also been planning events with some of retail stores that carry TOMS so that we can engage fans in new ways and continue to bring the One for One movement to local places, whatever local is to a TOMS fan.
If you were a sandwich, you’d be… A Grammy sandwich, because my grandma makes the best sandwiches! (Sidenote: sandwiches are always better when made by someone else.)
Hobbies? Playing drums and guitar. After being a little clumsy on a boat, I’m finally getting stitches out of my foot so I’ll be surfing and playing beach volleyball.
If you could have any super power, you’d have… The ability to shoot spaghetti from my fingertips, and to control the weather. I’d love to have snow days in Georgia!
Last song played on your iPod? “Take Heart” by Hillsong United

Andy Straight—Action Sports Retail Marketing Intern

Hometown: Lake Tahoe, CA
Why I love working at TOMS: I’m stoked to be working with the action sports retail marketing department at TOMS because it wonderfully aligns my life-long action sports passion with a personal mission to do my part in helping the world become a better place.
Hobbies? Anything outside, especially hiking, biking, skateboarding, mountain biking.
Current book you’re reading? Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Anthony Kiedis from Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Last song played on your iPod? “Taking up Your Precious Time” by Pretty Lights

Erin Scott—Print Design Intern

Hometown: Orlando, FL
Why I love working in design: Being a print design intern for TOMS is so awesome because I get to draw so many things by hand before going digital. Many of my days are spent making hand drawn type and illustrations that I later work into look books and invitations.
Favorite food? Definitely sandwiches. I eat at least 2 a day…
Hobbies? I love going to flea markets and to really unique thrift stores, and there is no better place to do that than L.A! I have already collected so much stuff in the past 3 weeks; I don’t know how I am going to get it all home.
If you could have any super power, you’d have… Invisibility! I love to people watch, so this way it would be less awkward.
Last song played on your IPod? “Something Good Can Work” by Two Door Cinema Club

There you have it… final introductions coming your way next Tuesday!

Until then,

Abby
