Hi, all!

Abby again, with the final installment of “Meet the Interns!” Since our first hello’s a few weeks back, through fun projects and crazy deadlines, we’ve gotten to know each other better with every day. And so, it’s with excitement and joy that I pave the way for ya’ll to meet the last (but certainly not least) group of interns…

Christina Dietz—Alternative Sales Intern

Hometown: Dallas, TX
What are you working on? I am gearing up for the launch of our Campus Classic shoes for the Fall – you’ll see what I’m talking about soon!
Favorite food? A rockin’ panini with bananas, granola, peanut butter, and some cinnamon sprinkled on top.
Favorite smell? I know this sounds super hippie of me, but I’m going to go with Eucalyptus trees. I still remember driving from San Francisco to Mill Valley with the windows down more than a year ago…talk about a lingering waft!
If could have a super power you’d have… Is it weird that I don’t want one?

Vivian Nguyen—Production Intern

Hometown: Witchita, KS
What are you working on? I just finished compiling fit test results for footwear, which is basically feedback on shoes that employees are testing for possible sale in the future.
Favorite food? I could eat potatoes all day every day. French fries, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes…you name it! (Accompanied by steak…)
If you could have a super power you’d have…You know, I’m kind of jealous of Spider Man. Could you imagine shooting web lines out of the palm of your hands? I could get to places in high speeds and hundreds of feet above street level. Getting to my destination would always be a joy ride!

Beth Anna Graham – Environmental Design Intern

Hometown: Galivants Ferry, SC (itty bitty baby town near Myrtle Beach)
What are you working on? I’ve designed window decals for retail displays but I’ve also worked on some international trade show graphics, and even gotten handy with a needle and thread for a DIY project!
Favorite food? It’s a toss-up between chicken parmesan and chimichangas.
If you could have any super power you’d have…Getting-ready-super-fastness. It seems so practical.
Last song played on IPod? “White Fences” by needtobreathe

Nick Mirkin—International Sales Intern

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
What are you working on? Analyzing, caching, and organizing content from potential TOMS retailers or distributors from all over the world. I am also a contact for those candidates to become international retailers and distributers.
Favorite food? In-N-Out. I go to school in New York, so it reminds me of home.
Hobbies? I love to read and write.
Last song played on IPod? “The Malkin Jewel” by The Mars Volta

Annie Hejny—Community & Grassroots Intern

Hometown:
 St. Paul, MN
Why I love what I’m working on: It has shown me the importance of keeping the TOMS community connections personal and full of gratitude. Last week, I was interacting with kids and families at a large Summer of Sight event here in LA. It was great to have conversations about giving, answer individual questions and share about our newest One for One: sight.
Favorite food? Guacamole.
Current book you’re reading? The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
If you could have a super power you’d have… The ability to slow time. It would be great to make good times last longer.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive you’d meet… Gandhi.

Grace Lodge—Eyewear Intern

Hometown: Basalt, CO
Why I love working at TOMS: The One for One model is so unique and drives such a wonderful culture here at HQ. Everyone is always learning from and teaching each other, which ensures that every person and the company itself are constantly growing and improving.
If you could have any super power you’d have… The ability to go under water without air.
Hobbies? Surfing, tennis, and hiking.

Melissa Lieberman – E-Commerce Merchandising Intern

Hometown: Parkland, FL
What are you working on? This summer I am creating a product knowledge manual for the Holiday 2012 collection. On a daily basis I monitor website product reviews and the “How We Wear Them” section of TOMS.com. I also help the team put together a merchandise strategy for the upcoming season.
If you could have any super power you’d have… The ability to speak every language. Favorite food? Raspberries, the fruit in California is amazing!
Hobbies? Hiking, photography, and reading.

Samantha Nordlund—Giving Intern

Hometown: Westlake Village, CA
Why I love working at TOMS: I get to work on the latter end of the TOMS One for One model, interfacing with Giving Partners and hearing the great work TOMS is doing in 40+ countries around the globe.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive you’d meet… Do I have to pick just one? It’s a tie between Health ledger, Ellen DeGeneres, Landon Donovan, and Ronald Reagan.
If you could have any super power you’d have… teleportation.
Last song played on IPod? “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz

And that’s a wrap! Look out for an awesome guest post on next week’s intern blog, and more updates from me after that!

Catch you in a few weeks….
