Lenny Kravitz helped concept TOMS Spring 2012 CollectionWhen TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie met rock icon Lenny Kravitz in late 2010, they instantly struck a chord over a love of music and simple living. Whether crafting new songs from an airstream trailer in the Bahamas, or developing ideas for the One for One movement from a sailboat in Venice, CA, the two men shared an understanding that big ideas can often flourish in subtle surroundings.

Their connection developed in to the creation of TOMS 2012 Spring Collection, which was inspired by Kravitz’s one-of-a-kind-design aesthetic and his dedication to creative and low-impact living…

Working as guest creativedirector with Mycoskie and TOMS’ in-house design team, Kravitz helped infuse new TOMS styles with colorful woven prints, embroidered detailing, and evenlyrics from his classic hit song, Let Love Rule.

Of the seemingly unexpected collaboration, TOMS Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Mycoskie said, “It was exciting and humbling to work with an icon like Lenny Kravitz and have the ability to share his story and inspiration through this season’s collection. It’s obvious that Lenny’s talent’s go way beyond music, and we’re thrilled that we had a chance to collaborate with him on some really great TOMS.”

“Being a guest creative director for TOMS was an exciting collaboration,” said Lenny Kravitz. “I’ve been a longtime fan and admirer of the brand, not only for the quality of the product, but also for their social message and commitment to providing shoes to people in need.“
