Ladies and gentlemen – without or without the iconic beginnings of a MO – we hereby present to you the TOMS Mo Bros of 2012.

They know the facts about men’s health; they know they’re about to look borderline ridiculous (well, some of them, at least); they are READY TO MO!

In the thick of the TOMS x Movember partnership to change the face of men’s health, these eight brethren are each growing a moustache to raise awareness and funs for men’s health issues like prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

Meet the eight Bros on the frontlines this year: six at our Los Angeles HQ and two in London

He’s grown a MO… “three years in a row for Movember. My Mo’s in the past have been decidedly awesome.”
He’s MOtivated by… “My grandfather, uncle and step-father-in-law, who have all battled and won a specific men’s health issue. I want to stay healthy and ahead of anything that can threaten my health.”

He calls himself…  Pete
He works on… the TOMS Online team
He’s grown a MO… “twice. One when I was managing a retail store, to look more authoritative. Last year I grew one for Movember. Like good scotch, my moustache gets better with age.”
He’s MOtivated by…”My father. His father, my grandfather, died before I was born, so my dad takes his health especially seriously. He exercises daily and keeps healthy eating habits, knowing he wants to live a long life with his kids and grandchildren. He’s an inspiration for me to do the same. I’m doing the manly thing and staying on top of my own health.”

Keith
He works on… the TOMS Customer Service team
He’s grown a MO… never before. “I actually do not think I can grow one. It takes a month just to make a small breakthrough; but [no matter the outcome of the effort] I am excited about bringing more awareness to Movember. I’m happy to be a part of that.”
He’s MOtivated by… “Both my parents. They come from a long line of health-related issues. They raised us to make sure we do not become part of the cycle, and have inspired me by how proactive they are in their own lives. I’ve also been dancing since I was 19-years-old, and every teacher I have had has motivated me [through dance] to take my health seriously; to maintain it.”

He calls himself… Jonathan
He works on… the TOMS Customer Service team (with Keith!)
He’s grown a MO… “A couple of years back this crazy woodsman look appealed to me, so I grew out all the facial hair I could: the beard, the MO, the works. At the end of it, I tried to go MO-only, but I was having trouble maintaining relationships…just kidding…but seriously.”
He’s MOtivated by… “A friend of mine who recently underwent surgery to prevent the spread of a cancer. He proactive attitude was a kick in the pants for me to start paying more attention to my own health.”

He’s grown a MO… multiple times, and in recent history. “I pretty much look amazing with a moustache, so there’s really no reason for me not to have one.”
He’s MOtivated by… his dashing good looks with facial hair, and the spirit of fun, manly competition.

He calls himself… Nick
He works on… the TOMS Finance team
He’s grown a MO… “last year for Movember and every year during college for ‘Moustache March.’”
He’s MOtivated by… “As a big sports fan, I don’t have one single individual who has motivated me to be serious about my health, but I can say that many great athletes, past and present, are a constant reminder that the body can do phenomenal things if taken care of and malicious things if ignored.”

He’s grown a MO… before, and been crowned for it. “Movember 2009 was my first foray into the wonderful world of moustaches. It was pretty blonde, invisible and lame, which led to me being crowned ‘Lame Mo 2009’ at the Cornwall (South West England) Movember gala. However, my charming little bear hat carried me past the competition to take ‘Man of Movember’ that same night.” He went for round two last year, and is seeking the crown again this year.
He’s MOtivated by… My dad. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009. As he always went for regular check ups, he managed to catch it early. This meant that radiotherapy was a viable option. He got the all-clear in October of that year and has been in great health ever since. He is quite an inspiring character, so when he embarked on his own Moustache adventure in 2011, everyone took notice! Movember’s ability to raise awareness and fund research into these diseases will ensure there are many more heart warming, tear-jerking stories like my dad’s!”

He calls himself… Alex

He’s grown a MO… in part. “Lasr year I tried to grow a mean set of handlebars for Movember, but my MO was shy and patchy. Hence, this year I’ve been pounding back marmite to gain a more manly and full-grown MO.”
He’s MOtivated by… “My dad. He has a proper manly beard and is a science guy, involved in finding the root causes of inflammatory-related health problems. He is an inspirational person in my life, so even though I am not science savvy I can hopefully show my respect and appreciation for him by growing a MO and talking about the importance of looking after oneself. “
