A new year may have swept in, but Charlotte, a TOMS employee in the UK, takes some time to reflect on one of her favorite lessons about the TOMS culture, which she learned at the end of 2012.

One Friday morning in London, with good in mind, we booked a meeting room and, armed in giant, shiny, gold trousers, we choreographed a dance.

Skip ahead a few hours and find us at the Movember gala with 1,000 others, suitably dressed in nice clothes for an evening in tribute to men’s health. Amidst the crowd, we stand, a group of MC Hammers, representing our company. The costume competition begins for the goofy guests who flirt with foolery as we do, and we make it through the first round by simply looking fly.

 Round two is on its way and perhaps we’re overzealous, but  we – without Hammer’s natural jams – improvise a flash mob. Eyes are on us, and we slide through the next rounds, landing us at the next a second-place finish, as we shuffle to and fro, captivating our audience in Hammer time… That’s the way we recall it happening, at least.

Though Movember has come and gone, with holidays at its tail, the magic of that moment is still alive, as our TOMS team in the UK relishes in a glorious win, and the fact that we work somewhere that appreciates it.
