From TOMS founder/chief shoe giver Blake Mycoskie:
“The greatest part of my job is going on our Giving Trips. TOMS started this way, and these have been some of the most moving and memorable experiences in my life. We have an unbelievably passionate community, many of who tell us they would love to go on a Giving Trip. So we thought, ’ What can we do to show them how thankful we are for them?’”

TOMS Founder and Chief Shoe Giver is back in his home state of Texas with one major to-do item: Meet you. On Sunday, November 4th, Blake’s headed to Austin and will be at the Barton Creek Nordstrom for a fun-filled afternoon. How do we define fun-filled?
In conjunction with the publication and sale of TOMS Founder/Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie’s first book, Start Something That Matters, a One for One give impacted the education and lives of children here in the U.S. In his book, he focused on the importance of thinking outside the ordinary to do good, in all kinds of ways, and shared the stories of entrepeneurs and do-gooders who are contributing to changing the world.
And so, with every purchase of Start Something That Matters, a new children’s book will be provided to a child in need. One for One.
James Marshall Reilly is the author of Shake The World, a new book described by the Los Angeles Times as the perfect gift for an “anxious 21-year-old.” “Just don’t be surprised if they then ditch their plans to take a job in accounting, head off to dig irrigation ditches in Haiti, tweet the results and apply for the next round of TED fellowships.”
I first met Blake Mycoskie in 2008 when I was working as a speaker’s agent. He told me the story behind TOMS and I was duly impressed. As he explained his “One for One” business model that harnessed consumer dollars to solve a health and education issue halfway around the world, I became understandably inspired. I can honestly say that hearing Blake’s story actually changed my life in a very profound way.
