In 2006, TOMS became more than a one-man show when Blake (founder/chief shoe giver) found some young folks unafraid of heavy lifting, big dreaming and a work-hard-play-hard lifestyle. In the neighborhood where his Venice loft doubled as the headquarters for his new business, he found those people and he called them interns. Most of that group — which grew with time — still work at TOMS today, and are part of the reason why we talk often about the integral role interns play in the fabric of TOMS culture.

Time flies when you’re having fun, eh? All good things must come to an end? Blah blah blah. I’ve recently decided that those mottos are a bunch of junk.
